Once you have your resources in TEI-compatible XML, you
can do lots of different things with it ... including things you hadn't even thought of when you
rescued this information! E.g.:

make links between your collections management database and the primary sources of
acquisition information

populate a database (or a Topic Map) with data and assertions drawn from your TEI data

publish your material as a set of facsimiles, with the TEI data offering support for searches
(or as a ‘normal’ web site)

break up past publications into ‘chunks’ (e.g. about one object, one person) and re-use
these in future projects
