TEI P5 must fit into a joined-up digital world, along with

• W3C standards (XLink, schema, etc)
• Unicode character encoding
• Specialized markup vocabularies (MathML, SVG, DocBook, etc)
• Other metadata schemas (METS, EAD, etc)
• Other conceptual models and ontologies
