Evaluate and report on ways of interchanging data between existing systems using an external format based on the recommendations of P1. <li>Evaluate and report on relevant work of ANSI X3V8 (SMDL committee), in particular the possibility of convergence between TEI proposals and those of the Hytime DTD or any clear demarcation of interests. <li>Liaise with work groups handling non-textual data (graphics, equations, etc.) to determine the extent to which mechanisms outside SGML (e.g. pointer tables) are necessary to support multimedia documents. Draft recommendations for the treatment of such external mechanisms. <li>Respond to comments on the relevant portions of TEI P1 routed to this work group by the editors. </ol> <!> <h1>Administrative <p> Work group reports to Committee for Text Representation. Head of the work group is Steve DeRose.
