Text Encoding Initiative Steering Committee Meeting <title>14-15 March 1991, Tempe, Arizona <title>Tentative Agenda <docnum>TEI &docfile. <date>&docdate. </titlep> <!> </frontm> <!> <body> <note> Susan and I worked up the attached agenda, although she has not had a chance to see the final version. As you know, she will take over as Chair of the Steering Committee after our meeting (and before the Tempe conference itself). <p> You will note that the first and last agenda items are rendered simply as "PRIORITIES!" This reflects Susan's and my convictions that we cannot possibly realize all the things that have already been started, much less those combined with what are yet to emerge by the end of the project. Consequently, our discussions (which themselves must be prioritized) should be suffused and perfused with a sense for priority. We must make decisions reflecting what can be done with the resources we have. <p> If Michael and Lou -- or any of the rest of us for that matter -- can provide written summaries or statements reflecting any of the agenda items in advance, that would be helpful. However, we realize that the preparations for the TEI sessions at Tempe have the highest priority for their time, so this request may not be realizable. It is of course particularly desirable for Michael and Lou to circulate their Tempe session and workshop materials in advance so that the rest of the Steering Committee can have a chance to react in time to do some good. <p> As always, suggestions for additions and revisions to the agenda are encouraged. <p> A personal note: I will be leaving New Jersey on 8 March, so material sent after 7 March will not reach me before I get to Tempe. Maybe I will have a new granddaughter to report on by the time of our meeting. <p> Don </note> <!> <h1>TENTATIVE AGENDA <sl> <li>1. PRIORITIES! <!> <li>2. Tempe Meetings <sl> <li>a.
